**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager within the Endoscopy unit, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for all duties associated with the collection and distribution of patient care items and the decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization handling and storage of patient care medical equipment and supplies. All responsibilities are carried out in adherence to professional standards, manufacturers instructions and departmental policies and procedures.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Grade 12
- Successful completion of a Medical Device Reprocessing Technical Training Program
- MDR certification preferred
- If no qualified applicants, will consider applicants who enrolled in or willing to obtain a Medical Device Reprocessing Technical Training Program within 12 months
- Formal education in anatomy, medical terminology and microbiology
- Membership with the Medical Device Reprocessing Association of Nova Scotia preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical device reprocessing setting preferred
- Experience operating MDR related equipment
- Training and experience in the reprocessing of endoscopes an asset
- Knowledge of Universal Precautions and Infection Control measures
- Excellent communication skills
- An aptitude for tasks requiring manual dexterity and technical skill
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Physical Demands: Repetitive bending, repetitive lifting and carrying up to a maximum of 30 pounds and repetitive pushing and pulling carts. Constant standing and walking. Exposure to chemicals, blood and body fluids and extreme heat and humidity as well as loud noise.

**Hours**:

- Permanent full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- On-call for the reprocessing of Endoscopes.
- Travel to various sites may be required.
- A skills test will be included as part of the selection process.

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$21.79 - $24.68 hourly
