Home and Community Care Support Services South East is one of 14 Home and Community Care Support Services organizations in Ontario with a focused mandate to deliver local health care services such as home and community care and long-term care home placement.
These organizations were previously known as Local Health Integration Networks (or "LHINs") at a time when they also led local health care planning and funding, and those functions are now part of Ontario Health.
Home and Community Care Support Services South East is dedicated to ensuring the ongoing delivery of local services while Ontario makes changes to improve the health care system to give patients better-connected care with health care providers working as one coordinated team in Ontario Health Teams.
The south east region extends from Brighton on the west, to Prescott and Cardinal on the east, north to Perth and Smiths Falls, and back to Bancroft. The boundaries are for funding and planning purposes only. Residents of the Home and Community Care Support Services South East can seek health care services wherever they prefer, inside or outside these boundaries.
Position Summary
This position performs a variety of technical training and support for the clinical systems used by Home and Community Care Support Services South East, including but not limited to Client Health and Related Information System (CHRIS), Assessment Software (AcuteNet/interRAI) and the Health Partner Gateway (HPG).
**Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
Application Support / Service Desk
- Provides input and recommendations on the resolution of CHRIS and related process issues;
- Escalates unresolved issues to Management and/or Ontario Health Shared Services (OHSS) as applicable;
- Ongoing review and maintenance of CHRIS features and functionality (existing and new), and executing functions as required;
Training & Education
- Develops, maintains, and delivers training and education related to the use of CHRIS and associated CHRIS Business Processes to staff/users
- Identifies and escalates known inconsistencies related CHRIS training and education;
- Prepares and distributes CHRIS training materials, instructions and manuals, when required;
Business Process
- Participates in discussions/recommendations around incorporation of CHRIS and assessment software new and updated release functionality;
- Collaborates with other teams/units/stakeholders, related to the utilization of CHRIS and related functionality;
- Prepares reports and investigates data as required;
- Identifies and escalates known inconsistencies in business processes related to CHRIS;
- Assists with recommending and implementing changes to new or existing procedures to ensure the effective and efficient use of CHRIS;
- Maintains currency of CHRIS Business Process Manual and all related reference material, as directed;
- Participates in orientation of new staff;
- Attends and participates in meetings as required;
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Position Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Excellent computer skills - including Windows, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Infopath)
- Experience with Camtasia Software is considered an asset
- Experience with technical training and education of adult learners; Certification in adult education is considered an asset;
- Experience in developing training and reference materials considered an asset

- Ability to contribute to discussions around proposed CHRIS enhancements and to understand the potential impact and changes required for Home and Community Care Support Services South East process and practice;
- Some knowledge of the OHSS Ticketing/Request process (Care Support / Remedy);
- Reliability regarding confidentiality of medical and other restricted information;
- Proficiency in problem-solving and an aptitude for handling all types of inquiries in a calm and helpful manner;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, and multi-task;
- Ability to work effectively independently, and as a member of a team.
