Experienced Barista

School Specialty Coffee is looking for an experienced Barista to prepare, serve and talk about specialty coffee to customers at our independent cafe in Mapleview Shopping Centre. We are a multi-roaster shop. We retail and serve beans from different microroasters featuring single origin, specialty beans with light to medium roasts. We also serve teas, pastries, sandwiches and smoothies. We retail specialty coffee gear.

Skills that an "Experienced Barista" will have:

- Can dial in espresso
- Steam milk at various consistencies
- Create basic latte art
- A general love of coffee, with a reasonable coffee-knowledge base
- The ability to make general recommendations to customers about home brewing (methods, coffee prep & storage, taste preferences, etc.)

These skills are in addition to all the needs of the cafe: stocking, sampling, prepping & cleaning. Everybody pitches in for everything.

You must have or be willing to get your Food Handler's certificate.

Hours: Mall hours are Mon to Fri 10am-9 pm, Sat 9:30am-6 pm & Sun 11am-6 pm. Extended hours for December. We close on most holidays
