We are seeking a proactive and detail orientated **Construction Safety Officer (CSO)** to join our team.

As a **Construction Safety Officer (CSO) **and a member of the team, you will be responsible for proactively implementing and maintaining on-site safety programs and training.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Promote and maintain good working relationships and collaboration with peers, clients, consultants, and suppliers
- Ensure safety is a priority that is managed in every project

**SAFETY**
- Coordinate and educate out Team on compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and best practices on-site to meet or exceed all WorkSafeBC regulations and requirements
- Meet regularly with team members to provide safety training, education, and guidance
- Evaluate, implement and train site-specific safe work practices & Safe job procedures, health and safety standards, programs, and practices
- Stop unsafe work or any work that does not meet our requirements and standards
- Participate and support staff in conducting effective incident investigations that identity underlying causes and effective corrective measures
- Create and review incident reports, inspection reports and identify trends and provide appropriate recommendations
- Provide site first aid, guidance, and support, as required
- Assist with Joint Health & safety Committee meetings
- Report site activities to the office Safety Lead
- Maintain and replenish required safety and first aid on site

**LABOURER**
- Assist with on-site with light labour, as required
- Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**
- 5+ years of experience in safety roles in commercial, industrial, and civil construction
- BC Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO)
- A minimum of Level 2 safety certification
- Exceptional communication, management, customer service, problem-solving, and organization skills
- Strong construction safety leadership, and approach to all work
- A high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Highly Self-motivated and accountable
- Access to a vehicle and a valid BC Driver’s License to drive to project sites throughout the lower mainland.
- Demonstrated success in effectively mentoring and managing a team
- Strong work ethic, highly motivated and enjoys a challenge
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach
- Solution-focused with a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and allocate time/resources accordingly
