Marwood Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team and oversee health and safety initiatives across two Nova Scotia locations: Bedford and Brookfield

As the Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our Health & Safety program for Nova Scotia Operations. Collaborating closely with the Human Resources Manager and other key stakeholders, you will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct training sessions, and facilitate a culture of safety excellence across our sites.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the Health & Safety program for Marwood Ltd. (Nova Scotia Operations)
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure safe work conditions are maintained
- Investigate accidents and coordinate corrective actions with the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC)
- Advise, train, and enforce Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures
- Participate in new hire orientation to address safety-related topics
- Audit the effectiveness of safety meetings and procedures
- Identify and communicate at-risk behaviors to promote a proactive safety culture
- Assist in workers' compensation claims and Return to Work (RTW) programs
- Collaborate with departments to revise and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment and production lines
- Provide and document annual WHMIS and Lockout training for all Marwood employees
- Manage employee course registrations and coordinate necessary certifications (e.g., first aid, forklift)
- Handle specific purchasing of safety supplies and equipment, including items such as anti-fatigue mats and first aid kit supplies
- Provide support for the Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC)
- Conduct hazard inspections and manage Quick Exposure Checklist (QEC’s)
- Develop and contribute to safety portions for Toolbox meetings
- Demonstrate flexibility to procure necessary supplies by leaving the site when required.
- Take ownership of providing essential safety training to employees
- Act as a liaison during Department of Labouer investigations or concerns
- Offer ongoing support to employees and management in executing Health & Safety programs and initiatives effectively
- This role may consult or become involved in areas of quality control activities or other various tasks as required

**What Qualifications You Bring to the Table**:

- A diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety
- Certification in Occupational Health & Safety (e.g., CRSP, CSP) is preferred
- Proven experience in health and safety coordination within a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
