Seasonal Reforestation Field Supervisor

As a Seasonal Field Supervisor, you will help the Reclamation Department complete tree planting projects safely, on time and on budget. In your role, you will report to Project Managers to oversee Field Assistants and Seasonal Staff, embodying Tree Time Services Inc.’s core values in your daily work to set an example for your team. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients from local Albertan businesses to some of the world’s largest multinational corporations.
This posting is for work beginning in the spring of 2024.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to project managers to execute field projects safely and efficiently.
- Completing safety paperwork
- daily meetings, hazard identifications and incident reporting.
- Coordinating seasonal tree planters.
- Running the daily logistics of field projects.
- Accurate day-to-day reporting to the project manager.
- Living and promoting Tree Time’s safety culture.

SKILLSET
- Crew supervision and direction on tree planting projects.
- Safe vehicle operation, including 4x4 trucks and OHVs.
- Proficiency training, mentoring, and supervising new workers.
- Ability to build supervision capacity from within the ranks.
- Computer competency, including office productivity, GPS, and GIS.
- Talent for creating a sense of ease, comfort, and confidence with TTSI clients

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Required:_
- Experience managing projects with mínimal supervision.
- Understanding of reforestation logistics and seedling stock handling requirements.
- Proven ability to find sites with only a legal location within Western Canada.
- Competence in organizing crews and executing projects in the field.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Alberta Drivers License.
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol tests as required.
- Assets:_
- Working towards or possessing a degree or diploma in Environmental Sciences, Forestry, or Natural Resource Management.
- Knowledge of helicopter logistics and load management.
- Off-road driving experience.
- Valid copies of the following certificates:
- First Aid.
- ATV and ARGO certificates and have field experience using both machines independently.
- H2S Alive®.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
