Ecologist / Biologist (Permanent and Seasonal Positions Available)

EnviroMak Inc. Environmental Management Consultants is seeking biologists/ecologists to join their Alberta environmental sciences team. Multiple full time permanent and seasonal positions are available for vegetation, wetlands, wildlife and aquatic fields of interest. Applicants should possess the following minimum qualifications.
  • Have completed or currently are enrolled in a Biological Sciences or related ecology or environmental studies degree program
  • Hold a valid Alberta Driver's licence and insurable driving record
  • Plant identification skills and experience preferred
  • Fish and wildlife identification skills and experience are assets
  • Previous field experience is an asset
  • Experience with ArcGIS is an asset
  • Valid first aid and other safety certifications are assets
The successful applicants' responsibilities may include:
  • Field work and data gathering for limnological and wetland assessments and monitoring, vegetation surveys, fish and fish habitat assessments and fish rescues, wildlife and nesting bird surveys and sweeps, biophysical assessments, environmental monitoring, etc.
  • Vegetation, soil and water quality sampling and analyses
  • Research and aerial photograph interpretation
  • Data entry and handling
  • GIS mapping and GPS use
  • Equipment handling and organization
  • Assistance to biologists, agrologists and professionals in the field and office
EnviroMak's head office is located in Edmonton, Alberta; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel outside the Edmonton area.

Position start and end dates (as applicable to seasonal positions) are negotiable.

Full time and seasonal candidates will be considered as well as summer and co-op/practicum students. #J-18808-Ljbffr
