Brandt is currently seeking two **Heavy Duty Field Service Technicians** for the Halifax, Antigonish, and Port Hawkesbury areas, reporting to our Halifax location.
The Service Technician independently performs basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis. Resolves customer issues to their satisfaction on a timely basis.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
- Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
- Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
- Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
- Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
- Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
- Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
- Diagnose and repair all related systems (disassembly, assembly, and repair).
- Perform customer inspections on equipment.
**Required Skills**:
- knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Proven computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
- Strong communication skills, showing an appreciation of customer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- A commitment to high quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
Required Experience
- Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
- Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
- Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
