Le titulaire du poste aura comme principales responsabilités la représentation de la Société dans toute affaire juridique liée aux enfants ayant besoin de protection sous la direction générale du Conseiller juridique principal, y compris la préparation et la présentation de causes devant la Cour supérieure de justice, tribunal de la famille, jusqu’à la conclusion des appels, ainsi que la prestation de consultation juridique auprès du personnel de l’Agence concernant les affaires liées au travail social de protection individualisé. Il s’agit d’un poste non syndiqué.

**The Job** This posting is for permanent Bilingual Legal Counsel. The incumbent will have primary responsibilities of representing the Society in all legal matters pertaining to children in need of protection under the general direction of Senior Legal Counsel, including the preparation and presentation of cases in Superior Court of Justice, Family Court through to completion of appeals and provide legal consultation with Agency staff on matters relevant to protection case work. This is a non-unionized position.

- Bonnes compétences interpersonnelles, avec la capacité de travailler en coopération et en collaboration avec des ressources internes et externes.
- Écoute attentive et aptitudes de communication efficaces à l’oral et à l’écrit.
- Avoir une bonne maitrise de la gestion du temps et d’organisation, et capacité de travailler de façon efficace sous la pression de délais serrés, de priorités conflinctuelles et d’enjeux émergents.
- Compétences et aptitudes démontrées en collaboration avec des personnes pouvant avoir un vaste éventail d’antécédents, de races, d’ethnicités, de religions, d’orientations sexuelles, d’identités de genre, d’incapacités, etc.
- Une compréhension approfondie des valeurs et des principes d’anti-oppression.
- Il est important de bien comprendre les valeurs et les principes de lutte contre l’oppression.
- Il faut obligatoirement être bilingue (français / anglais); les compétences seront testées.

**Qualifications**
- Must be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
- Sound knowledge of the legislation dealing with children and families, and in particular the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
- Sound knowledge of the processes and procedures involved in litigation.
- Strong skill set in mediation with other parties regarding what is in the best interests of the child and the Society.
- Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal and external resources.
- Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills & ability to work effectively under the pressure of tight timelines, competing priorities and emergent issues.
- Demonstrated competence and skill in working with individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, etc.
- A thorough understanding of anti-oppression values and principles.
- An appreciation of and ability to work with a diverse community.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is required, proficiency will be tested.

**Rémunération**

Le salaire, qui varie entre 80 718$ et 110 141$, selon expérience, est doté d'un ensemble d'avantages sociaux généreux, de vacances et d'allocations pour des absences autorisées.

**Compensation**

The salary range is $80,718 to $110,141 commensurate with experience, with a generous benefits package, vacation and leave provisions.
