Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that the clients of Crosbie House are safely and securely supported in their Addiction Treatment Program. This position also involves supporting clients as they transition from our facility to the community.

Criteria:
**Duties**:

- Conducts and documents introductory and initial counselor interviews and constructs initial treatment plans
- Meeting with clients to evaluate their health and substance problem
- Manage case-load and provide one on one counseling to clients and alumni.
- Create individualized care and continuing care plans.
- Identifying issues and create goals
- Prioritize and document clinical issues to be addressed in treatment and continuing care.
- Teach clients coping mechanisms
- Facilitate group therapy sessions
- Provide updates and progress reports to courts and employers (if requested)
- Refer clients to support groups
- Develop and implement post-treatment aftercare plans
- Meet with family members to provide guidance and support
- Utilize breathalyzer and urine screen testing.
- Provide suicide and crisis intervention.
- Attend weekly counselor meetings and provide progress reports to Program Manager

Qualifications:
A valid certificate from an accredited addiction counselling organization would be considered an asset.

An equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience may be considered.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Valid driver’s license and access to transportation.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.)

Work Week: Mondays to Fridays

**Salary**: $22.58-$30.55 per hour
