Detailed Overview:
**Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families**:
Reporting to the Team Lead, Health Equity & Population Health Unit, with a matrix relationship to the Communications and Public Affairs portfolio, the Social Marketing Consultant is responsible for leading health promotion and prevention social marketing strategies for Fraser's Health's Public Health Program.

Working in consultation with the Public Health Program, the Consultant recommends, develops, implements, manages, and evaluates social marketing strategies to bring about beneficial changes in behaviour among members of defined target audiences. The Consultant applies communication, marketing, education and behavioural science best practices, to social marketing initiatives and incorporates a variety of mediums, and tools and tactics including: videos, social media, presentations, policy development, media releases, public service announcements, events, and print materials. The Consultant conducts research and assessments; works with internal and external stakeholders; and makes recommendations to help guide the implementation of Fraser Health's Population Health Strategic Plan, STOP HIV and vision of Better Health.

**Responsibilities**:

- In collaboration with Communications and Public Affairs, creates an overarching population health communications plan that prioritizes activity; sets goals and objectives; identifies social marketing, health promotion and prevention requirements; develops actions plans; defines human and material resources; and establishes timelines.
- Provides social marketing and communications technical assistance to PH senior leadership team. Plans, develops and implements social marketing strategies to engage target audiences in adopting healthy behaviour(s).
- Makes recommendations to help guide the development of Public Health social marketing initiatives that enables Fraser Health to meet the Population Health Strategic Plan and STOP HIV goals.
- Conducts market research to identify which members of the target audience are more likely to adopt the desired behaviors; identifies competing behaviors, benefits and barriers.
- Provides guidance, counsel, training and advice to internal and external population health stakeholders in developing health promotion and social marketing campaigns that influence positive population health outcomes.
- Develops social marketing intervention work plans to address emergent population health crisis's such as outbreaks.
- Manages multiple video projects. Hires and manages vendors (production companies, etc.), develops treatments, coordinates stakeholder involvement, manages logistics, writes scripts, directs, and oversees post-production to ensure products reflect the Fraser Health brand, values and priorities.
