**SUMMER ARTS DAY CAMP**

**Music | Acting | Film**

**5 DAY CAMPS & 4 DAY CAMPS**

**WHEN**: Weekly Camps in July and August Mon
- Fri 9am
- 4pm

**AGES**: 6-12yrs

**ABOUT THIS CAMP**

Participants will take part in a variety of fun experiences, games and activities involving Filmmaking, Acting and Music No experience necessary While utilizing locations in our facility, community, local beaches and forests, participants will take part in making a movie together. Activities will include fun improv games, helping write the script, recording music soundtracks to karaoke tracks or with instruments, collecting or making of props & costumes, shooting the scenes, and helping to edit the video into the final product which all culminates in a premiere of the movie on Friday for family and friends

**POSITIONS**:
Camp Leaders: The camp leaders would need to be fun and good with children. Experience working with children is a huge asset and usually required. As above, the goal of the camps each week is to work with each other and the campers to write and create and movie. Both positions need to have experience in movie making. The two positions are usually as follows:
**CAMP LEADER 1**:This position would act mainly as the Director, Camera Man, Editor and co-writer. Experience as film maker necessary. This position would provide their own camera and editing station. There are computers at the facility that have iMovie that can be utilized but usually this position uses their own computer and software for the final product. This position usually is able to add some visual effects and sound tracks too.

**CAMP LEADER 2**: This position would have experience in acting and training young actors. They would help co-write all the scripts, organize and facilitate prop making crafts and generally act as assistant director doing whatever is needed to help make the movies.

**NOTE**:While the goal is to make a movie there is always a need for fun with the kids So having an organized itinerary that includes time for snacks and lunch and lots of fun games and crafts is essential to making the whole week an amazing experience for the campers

**OTHER**:If a week of camp does not have participants signed up, these positions will be able to help our team with the following:

- **Marketing**: help our marketing position by creating digital content
- **Cates Park Concert Series**: assisting with the organization, marketing, filming and facilitating of this series.
- **Program Development**: assisting on creating or organizing our programs for next season

**CANADA SUMMER JOBS GRANT**

These positions are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant.

**REMUNERATION**: The positions are funded for a total of **$5543** each. Details will be discussed in interview.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
The employee that will be hired as a participant of the Canada Summer Jobs program must:
(a) be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
(b) be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and

(c) be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

**Job Types**: Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: From $17.40 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
