**AgSolutions Retail Representative (2301563) - Red Deer, Alberta**

**_Where the Chemistry Happens _**

The AgSolutions Retail Representative position, within our Agricultural Division, offers a unique opportunity for a professional to combine their respective sales and technical background to promote the industry leading innovations. The Business Representative will be responsible for driving accelerated sales growth of BASF’s new innovations to retail partners, managing relationships with the channel, actively prospect for news business to expand customer base and developing, cultivating and maintaining business relationships to an established network of retails.

In this role you will be responsible to work closely with the AgSolutions Grower team that calls on growers, to communicate grower demand to the retail network.

**_Formula for Success: You Will _**
- Attain the designated Product on Ground sales goals of strategic products, as outlined in the performance planning process, within the defined geographic territory.
- Conduct field level market development of applicable products, performing various activities which include, but are not limited to, Retailer training, Retail sales calls, targeted Grower sales calls, targeted Retail and Grower meetings and tours and attend industry trade shows.
- Manage and resolve retail and grower product inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Utilize the database to target, update and record information and plan activities pertaining to retailers and growers.
- Operate the defined geographic territory within specified expense budgets which include Travel and Living Allowance, Territory Initiatives, Target Customer Meetings and Tours, and utilizing these initiatives to build customer relationships.

**Qualifications**

**_Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You _**
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration in Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Business, or a related field..
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sales, or a technical background within an agricultural-related field including, but not limited to, seed, chemical, equipment, or crop consulting.
- Completion of BASF Technical Training modules over 1 year (core products, additional products, solutions selling, and product satisfaction training).
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates.
- Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy appropriately, resulting in achievement of goals.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to embrace BASF CRM Systems.
- Ability to travel overnight/weekly 15%, local travel 75%.
- Passionate about making a difference in the agriculture industry.
- Desired: Having obtained a Certified Crop Science Consultant (CCSC) designation or be willing to obtain within 12 months of hire.
