**The Role**Responsibilities**

**1. Admissions Evaluation**- c. Evaluates domestic and foreign transcripts for authenticity, to determine equivalency to BC high school standards and post-secondary admissions requirements, updates student academic and transfer credit records for purposes of admission and course prerequisites.
d. Researches and analyzes content of post-secondary courses, both articulated and un-articulated, to determine if content fulfills language proficiency requirements and/or program admissions requirements. Communicates with external agencies or institutions to clarify course or document content as needed.
e. Applies admissions policies fairly and equitably, maintaining current knowledge of related Douglas College policies, BCCAT, and BC Ministry of Advanced Education guidelines for all applicant and student types.
f. Identifies possible fraudulent documents; uses Internet, professional contacts, print resources, and professional evaluators in research process.
g. Determines program admissibility based on student documentation and/or assessment results, including determination of graduation status, calculation of program and cumulative GPA, and reviewing program specific forms (e.g. References, Resumes, Immunization Records, etc.) for authenticity and completeness.
h. Authorizes and sends offers of admission to qualified students in all college programs, in accordance with College policies.
i. Authorizes, as appropriate, deadline extensions for completion of admissions requirements, payment of deposits, etc. considering program targets, registration eligibility, course availability, etc.
j. Assess and resolves the needs and concerns of applicants using knowledge of policies, current procedures, and best judgement.

**2. Applicant Advising**-
e. Responds to complaints and issues by investigating and evaluating their concerns/questions and advises students on applicable existing content policies, determining and implementing the appropriate action.
f. Investigates and communicates with applicants to resolve complex issues, working closely with other units (e.g. Admissions, Records and Registration, Scheduling, Transfer Credits, etc.) to recommend and resolve sensitive issues relating to admissibility and College policies and regulations.
g. Connects and introduces applicants to additional Douglas College resources supporting enrolment (Enrolment Service Advisors, Assessments, DCI, Indigenous Student Services, Accessibility Services, etc.), and maintains up-to-date knowledge of service area offerings and availability.
h. Ensures that information on program deadlines, admissions requirement changes, and other information impacting prospective students and applicants is correct on internal and external resources, including recruitment publications and website content for Program areas and departments.

**3. Administration and Operations**
- a. Establishes and maintains admissions processes and procedures for programs in collaboration with faculties and departments.
b. Updates and maintains accuracy and integrity of data, and maintains quality control of admissions processes. Provides feedback and contributes to process and systems modernization and automation on an ongoing basis.
- e. Manages number of students admitted to limited enrollment programs; maintains accurate information on the number of offers extended and accepted, ensuring articulation agreements are honoured, and authorizes offers to students, ensuring compliance with government and College policies.
- h. Maintains a complete knowledge of those portions of the SIS which manage and support the admission and transfer credit process.
i. Supports implementation of SIS upgrades and new functionality, automation and upgrades; analyzes, tests, validates, implements and trains, working closely with CEIT analysts and programmers and/or Faculty or Departments.
j. Develops documentation and written procedures for the unit with respect to Banner upgrades, modifications and reports.
l. Researches, develops and maintains a comprehensive collection of current and accurate information related to foreign credential and educational system analysis to ensure standardized assessments for the College.

**4. Knowledge Expertise and Continuous Improvement**
