**We are currently looking for an **Affiliate Analyst** at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON**
The VGCA Accounting Shared Services Centre provides essential back office accounting functions for General Ledger, Inventory, Accounts Receivable and Affiliates, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets for multiple VW group companies including Volkswagen, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, factory production, and electric vehicle infrastructure. The Affiliate Analyst is responsible for the maintenance, reconciliation, settlement and aging of assigned affiliate Accounts Receivable and Payable accounts, in line with segregation of duty requirements.
***This is a flex hybrid model**
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare monthly Accounts Payable reconciliations for each affiliate account based on statements received and manage the resolution of any discrepancies.
- Finalize confirmation of balances monthly for all assigned affiliate companies.
- Maintain the affiliate Accounts Receivable aging, ensuring that all receivables are collected within a maximum of 90 days.
- Prepare the monthly and quarterly settlements between affiliates according to due date and clear as needed in line with month end deadlines.
- Prepare weekly settlements for misc, vehicle and parts purchases.
- Create the monthly payment schedule on a yearly basis.
- Assist Treasury with liquidity planning on a weekly and monthly basis, or as requested.
- Analysis of intercompany activity on a monthly basis to ensure integrity of financial reporting of intercompany balances for consolidation purposes.
- Provide statement of account to all affiliate customers on the first working day of each month and resolve any intercompany variances.
- Re-class vendor debit balances and customer credit balances on the 2nd working day of each month, for reporting purposes.
- Coordinate monthly warranty balances with the factories & controlling, prepare upload templates, and obtain settlement dates from the factories.
- Prepare and post in-transit entries accurately and completely, in line with month end deadlines.
- Prepare and post miscellaneous journal entries as required.
- Initiate the creation of new affiliate general ledger, vendor and customer accounts, as required.
- Complete flux analysis on a monthly basis.
- Support the Tax team by providing quarterly and yearly reports.
- Respond to inquiries from all areas of the business, and affiliate vendors/customers.
- Respond to requests from E&Y auditors and provide responses/submissions to formal audit requests within the required deadlines.
- Maintain Affiliate Accounting documentation (ICFR, process maps, narratives, desk procedures) as required.
- Provide additional reports and analysis as required.
- Run and post impairment based on IFRS 9 guidelines for month end closure.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/ or minimum 3 + years of experience in AP / AR field.
- Strong financial/ accounting experience, with proven ability to reconcile large and complex accounts.
- Ability to self-prioritize - Ability to manage high volume of transactions.
- Strong communication & organizational skills.
- Proven ability to take complexity out of situations and show a “feel for the numbers”.
- Proven ability to work under pressure.
- Entrepreneurial mindset & team player
- SAP experience is an asset.
- German, French language is an asset.
