**Position Summary**

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of The Beer Can, working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth execution of events, exceptional customer service, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for fostering a positive community.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Operations & Management**:

- Oversee daily operations of The Beer Can, ensuring smooth functioning across all departments (bar, events, and maintenance).
- Manage staff scheduling and coordinate team communication to ensure optimal coverage.
- Work closely with the General Manager to monitor budgets, inventory, and venue supplies.
- Enforce safety, security, and inclusivity policies to create a safer space for staff and patrons.

**Event & Arts Support**:

- Collaborate with the events team to execute programming, including music, visual arts, and community events.
- Assist in the coordination of bookings for _Under the Evergreens_ and other events, ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
- Serve as a point of contact for artists, performers, and vendors to ensure high-quality experiences.

**Staff Leadership & Development**:

- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff members.
- Foster a positive work culture aligned with The Beer Can's mission of inclusivity and community.
- Provide ongoing coaching and address staff concerns proactively.

**Customer Experience**:

- Ensure a welcoming and high-quality experience for all guests.
- Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.

**Administrative Tasks**:

- Assist the General Manager with financial reporting and administrative tasks as required.
- Support compliance with municipal and provincial regulations, including health, safety, and liquor licensing requirements.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
