The Policy & Legislation Division provides policy analysis and advice to the Minister of Finance, Cabinet, the Deputy Minister of Finance, and other senior government officials. The Division is responsible for tax policy, intergovernmental fiscal relations, providing strategic oversight of BC Assessment, administering the annual Property Assessment Review Panel process, financial and corporate sector policy and data analytics, and directs the implementation of related government decisions through development and preparation of legislation.

The Research Administrator will support the department with in-depth analysis on taxes and the implications of proposed changes to ensure consistency with government policy objectives (e.g., tax competitiveness, economic development, research and development, social policy), and tax policy principles such as fairness, efficiency and simplicity by collecting, organizing and presenting analysis and supporting technical data verbally and in writing.

**Job Requirements**:

- Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
- Completion of course work related to economics, law, research, statistics or program analysis.
- Experience compiling statistical information and conducting data analysis.

**About this Position**:
This is a temporary 4 month opportunity until August 30, 2024, intended for current undergraduate or continuing studies students. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
