The Design Assistant-Women's for Roots will be responsible for the following:

- Partner with PD leads to create a list of SMS samples
- Update the SMS tracker/ Line plan when samples are received
- Assist PD team with rotating the samples in Brand Center (SMS/PP/TOP’s)
- Assist PD team with TP updates
- Attend fittings, on need basis
- Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with design, TD, Merchandising, Materials and QA teams
- Adhere to company’s product calendar by solving production issues to meet calendar timelines
- Strong illustration skills using Illustrator and InDesign to build sketch files
- Good knowledge of the competitive casualwear market, with a strong eye for color, fabrication, and garment details
- Strong organizational skills-able to access accurate information as needed
- Strong communication skills verbal and visual - gives concise and focused information.
- Excellent time management skills - ability to adhere to calendar deadlines and manage workflow accordingly
- Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with a diverse group of people
- Team player - ability to negotiate and build consensus across multiple functions.
- Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Office) and PLM data management system experience is a plus.
