**Secretary-Treasurer**

The preferred commencement date for this position will be June 15th or a date mutually agreed upon by both parties.

Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, the Secretary-Treasurer is guided by the Division’s foundational statements and assists the Superintendent of Schools in fulfilling the general and specific aspects of provincial statute, Alberta Education Policy/Regulations, Division Administrative Procedure and Board Policy.

The Secretary-Treasurer serves as the chief financial officer, corporate treasurer, corporate board secretary, FOIP coordinator and oversees the finance, transportation, and facilities departments.
- Is able to work as part of a team, leveraging vision and creativity to meet our educational needs within the funding formula and to support educational programs.
- Recognizes the need to balance a hands-on approach in a smaller Division but who can also delegate responsibility effectively.
- Has excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and conflict resolution abilities.
- Is experienced in corporate and Board affairs, parliamentary procedure and supporting the work of governance.
- Understands and is able to navigate the provincial budget systems, manage the Board’s internal financial systems and oversee the collection and preparation of information from a number of departments for budgeting and reporting.
- Can build effective relationships within and outside of the Division to maximize partnership and collaboration.
- Understands that they are working in a Catholic school division and is able to support the Division’s faith priorities, goals, values and beliefs.
- Has experience in dealing with legal, labour and insurance matters.
- Is able to lead and motivate teams that work to meet the Division’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Has a professional designation in accounting (CA, CGA, CMA, CPA)

The successful applicant will provide support to twelve schools in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School Division. Our central office is located in Leduc with schools in Beaumont, Leduc, Drayton Valley, Wetaskiwin, Ponoka, and Lacombe.
