Compensation Range

Job Summary

The person in this role will be responsible for the planning and launch of the micro-certificate, Environmental Metrics for Sustainability Reporting,* for the MFRE program. This role plays a crucial part in content, coordination, marketing, financial sustainability, and business development for the Environmental Metrics micro-certificate to ensure a quality and timely launch.
- _The non-credit micro-certificate, Environmental Metrics for Sustainability Reporting, aims to train working professionals and new graduates in designing and setting up environmental metrics to track and assess the environmental impact of an organization’s activity and sustainability management practices and has received funding from the Continuous Learning Advancement Fund._

Organizational Status
The Micro-Certificate Project Manager reports to the MFRE Academic Director and will work with the MFRE Micro-Certificate Steering Committee, MFRE Academic Program Manager, and other members of the MFRE faculty.

Work Performed
- Identifies all stakeholders for the micro-certificate, develops and implements a stakeholder engagement plan.
- Develops project plan including defining project scope and creating a project schedule for the development and launch of micro-certificate.
- Reviews and recommends options for the design/delivery of modules in the micro-certificate.
- Identifies risks and works with Steering Committee to develop risk response strategies for the micro-certificate.
- Works with Academic Director to develop a financial management plan (including an initial breakeven assessment and initial budget) for the micro-certificate.
- Leads all stakeholders through the project planning and implementation phase
- Works with program evaluator to develop feedback and evaluation loop for initial launch and ongoing micro-certificate offerings.
- Develops and implements the communication plan for the launch of the micro-certificate.
- Works with Marketing Manager to develop and implement a marketing plan for the micro-certificate.
- Works with the Steering Committee to develop the outline for content for each of the 3 micro-certificate modules.
- Coordinates tasks/people/resources with CLAF and LFS Learning Centre for content and delivery technology.
- Conducts preliminary analyses of the market to identify opportunities for alliance and competitors and manage all joint collaborations.
- Researches and identifies potential partners, and works with identified partners in industry, government agencies and institutions (locally, nationally, and internationally) to assist in content development of the micro-certificate.
- Researches and identifies potential learners, including working with MFRE staff to develop a learner recruitment plan using UBC and MFRE sources.
- Develops a plan to ensure the sustainability of the micro-certificate (including marketing activities, administrative tasks, financial projections, human resources, IT resources content upgrades, industry partner and learner recruitment plan, records management and archiving, etc)
- Works with faculty member in the renewal and development of MFRE course content to focus on environmental metrics, supply chain metrics, sustainability reporting, and climate change.
- Contributes to the MFRE academic, student, alumni, and professional development events and coordination as required.
- Performs other duties as requested.
