**SKILLS REQUIREMENTS**:
Reporting to the Lodge Maintenance Manager, this position involves preventative maintenance duties and general upkeep of a 105 seniors’ lodge rooms and 77 seniors’ self-contained apartments. General maintenance duties including painting, drywall repair, flooring, and moving furniture, routine seasonal grounds work, minor plumbing, heating, cooling ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, light carpentry, door locks and window repairs.
- Solid understanding of maintenance programs and processes.
- Responsible for managing resident request and engaging in proper follow-up ensuring maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner.
- Strong team player with a collaborative style.
- Proven customer focus.
- Sound, practical judgment using independent decision making.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high adaptability skills is a must.
- A willing attitude who is not afraid to take on additional tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate details of work, boiler checks etc.
- Active participation in health and safety program including being a member of the OH&S committee.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Highly flexible, who can work on-call as required. Be flexible, able to work in a variety of environments, and available for emergency on call situations outside of regular hours. Must be willing to work outside in all conditions. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours/week).
- First-aid certification is considered an asset (training can be provided if not available)
- Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50 - 70 pounds)
- Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check for review and acceptance.
- A valid Class five (5) Operator’s License is required as incumbent will be required to operate a personal vehicle for business use on a regular basis. Clean driver’s abstract is considered an asset.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Fluent in English.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- 2-3 years’ experience in a related maintenance setting. Proven experience as a Professional Handyman or in a similar role.
- Experience working in a public sector environment with unionized and non-unionized employees is considered an asset.
- 2-3 years’ experience in the construction is considered an asset.
- Applicants with a trade ticket will be given priority.

Pay: $18.75-$22.01 per hour
