Covia is looking for a dynamic **Mobile Equipment Supervisor** who will have a positive impact on **the Operations **Teams at its Nepheline Syenite Operation located at the **Blue Mountain** facility location. As the **Mobile Equipment Supervisor**, Direct and maintain the efficient operation of the NSO mobile equipment fleet in the safest and most cost-efficient manner possible. Responsible for the performance of all mobile equipment, supervision and training of mobile equipment mechanics, safety and maintaining records consistent with corporate and governmental standards
**The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities**:
- Provide Safety Leadership through regular safety inspections of Maintenance Shop Assist with general Plant, Quarry and other areas' safety inspection when called upon. Observe and reinforce safe work behaviours and participate in formal monthly safety meetings. Promote and act to support a high level of site housekeeping, ergonomic initiatives, reduced employee dust exposure and Near Hit reporting among others. Ensure timely investigation and reporting on all department related safety incidents. Ensure compliances with report recommendations to prevent further occurrences.
- Administer the Controlled Maintenance Program to ensure all mobile equipment is maintained and repaired in order to meet production requirements
- Supervise the mobile equipment mechanics at Nephton and Blue Mountain Plants. Ensure all mobile equipment maintenance personnel are trained as required and follow procedures. Revise mobile equipment maintenance procedures as Prepare all required mobile equipment maintenance reports, including availability reports
- Administer all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Maintain good labour relationships with the maintenance Administer the Collective Agreement at both plants and handle grievances at first
- and second-stage of grievance procedure. Recommend spare parts and inventory levels. Act as Team Leader on Continuous Improvement Projects. Provide assistance as required for Capital Projects.
- Provide input for General Capital Budget submissions and Expenditure Requests. Interface with service representatives, suppliers, consultants, and Coordinate maintenance work to be done by off site contractors. Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal and Provincial rules and regulations.
- Develop weekly OPSCON narrative reports and Quarterly reports covering activities of the Mobile Equipment Procurement of parts for service and repairs of mobile equipment. Research and recommend equipment types and models for designated jobs. Perform other duties as assigned
- All other duties as assigned that may pertain to the success of the NSO Maintenance team.
**The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications**:
- Proficient use of electronic data collection and computer equipment related to occupational health and safety monitoring and reporting
- Safety focused leadership and teamwork. Exhibit values of integrity, respect for others, teamwork, collaboration, and accountability
- Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office suites, regulatory and safety software programs. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential.
- Strong organization, time management and attention to details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and suitable for preparing reports.
- **Heavy industrial maintenance experience required**:
- Minimum 5-7 years’ professional experience in maintenance support.
