What you'll do

**Responsibilities**:
Acadia is looking for a Career Educator to fill a limited term contract, in the Department of Co-operative Education and Career Services.

As a member of the Career Services team, the Career Educator has the primary responsibility of providing career education to students, and recent graduates, by delivering relevant career and experiential programming. They will collaborate extensively with stakeholders on and off campus to design and deliver innovative career resources, services, and programs.

Through collaboration with the Career Services team and other partners, the Career Educator will develop initiatives that help students realize their full potential and make the most of their Acadia student experience.

**The role is made up three key areas of responsibility**:
**Career Advising**: Through regular office hour appointments, meet with students one-on-one and in groups to provide education and skill development for activities such as resume and cover letter writing, interview support, job search support, etc.

**Resource Development**: Develop and regularly review virtual resources to aid students in resume/cover letter writing, interview support, job search support, etc.

**Career Program Delivery & Development**: Develop and deliver programing to support student career and skill development including facilitation of career and experiential programming, designing and delivering learning modules and virtual/in-person workshops and events, and creating research and data supported resources.
What you'll need

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree in a related field; Career Educator certificate, Career Practitioner certificate, or equivalent preferred.
3-5 years related experience - preferably in a post-secondary, educational or non-profit setting.
Experience/knowledge in career advising, experiential learning and/or career exploration practices and principles.
Demonstrated assessment skills, maturity, accountability, and an ability to work in both a team and individual environment.
Ability to engage stakeholders in initiatives to generate participation - can communicate and understand the needs of a diverse student population.
Experience working with students from different backgrounds and worldviews, recognizing the strengths and limitations of one's own background/experiences on communication with others
Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, where there is constant interaction with others.
Proficient multi-media and design skills an asset for website development and social media campaigns.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and some weekend assignments.
