Using a breadth of experience, skills and knowledge, the Sustainability Initiatives Manager helps to identify, develop, implement and champion sustainability programs across the organization. The Sustainability Initiatives Manager will ensure initiatives are aligned with our company’s business goals and AMA’s purpose: to protect the things that matter most. This person will identify methods and key metrics to achieve our targets to reduce our environmental footprint. Responsible for influencing and educating key stakeholders, the Sustainability Initiatives Manager will support and amplify internal and external communication efforts through numerous communication channels.

**WHAT YOU’LL DO**
- Report to Vice President, Corporate Purpose and partner closely with operations and departments across the association.
- Drive sustainability initiatives, identify and implement engaging sustainability programs and corporate purpose strategies.
- Continuously build momentum by educating stakeholders about our sustainability efforts in collaboration with the employee sustainability group, employee communications team, public relations team and others across the enterprise.
- Monitor global, government and regulatory news, trends, requirements, and best practices; stay abreast of evolving landscape and standards.
- Serve as environmental sustainability lead for the annual impact reporting and GHG emissions reporting across the association.
- Develop business cases for sustainability programs and build compelling and effective presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the CAA and AAA Federations to support and drive sustainability programs.
- Coach, counsel and guide association’s sustainability efforts across all levels in the association via multiple communication channels.
- Identify and track key data metrics and benchmarks, ensure compliance with sustainability requirements and make insightful recommendations to senior leadership.
- Some traveling to regions within Alberta as required, working outdoors, moderate manual labour.

**WHAT YOU’VE DONE**
- You have a bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have 5+ years of experience in environmental and sustainability programs.
- You bring expertise in environmental and sustainability materiality assessments, tracking and reporting, and integrating environmental and sustainability programs into corporate strategies and purposes.
- You have a proven track record of advising on sustainability and climate risk reporting and disclosure, contributing to annual or sustainability reports.
- Your background includes developing and delivering impactful awareness training on environmental and sustainability initiatives for senior/executive management.
- You possess a strong ability to coach, counsel, and guide clients and staff across all levels of an organization, fostering a culture of sustainability.
- Your expertise spans carbon emissions inventories, green electricity options, carbon capture and offsets, green transportation, electric vehicles, logistics, and other technologies relevant to the green economy.
