**Early Childhood Educator**
**Full time (35 hours per week) $27.74 per hour plus PWE**

There are over 300 JCCs globally and 150 in North America. 1.5 million people enter a JCC each week in North America.
In the JCC’s recently completed Strategic Plan, it set a bold and ambitious goal that, by 2026, the number of people engaging with the Prosserman JCC and the Schwartz/Reisman Centre will triple as the JCC becomes the centre of a thriving Jewish community. We are on a growth path of transformative change so that, when we’re done, 75,000 people annually will experience the JCC’s new mission; to be a hub of community, dedicated to the enrichment of Jewish life through meaningful shared experiences.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Observe and document children's interests and plans lessons; accordingly, expand on the children's learning based on the observation/documentation of the learning experiences.
- In consultation with the ECE Director/Assistant ECE Director and other staff, lead planning of and implementation of age-appropriate programs to enhance the children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development in accordance with the _Child Care and Early Years Act (CCYEA)_, the _Early Learning for Every Child Today_ Framework and _How Does Learning Happen_ and the Prosserman JCC Daycare & Preschool program philosophy (including _Sheva_).
- Use an emergent child-centered approach, incorporate learning experiences designed to meet the individual needs of the children and external therapeutic programs such as speech therapy, behavior management and physiotherapy etc arranged by parents.
- Follow the Program Statement and provide a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of development.
- Lead by example and are an excellent role model in the classroom for ECAs and children.
- Perform administrative functions when necessary.
**What you do well**
You demonstrate an enthusiasm and love of working with children and a passion for teaching. You have excellent English language skills and outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to easily form relationships with parents, co-workers, and children.
