Bayshore Integrated Care Solutions is looking for a passionate and caring _**_Recreation Coordinator _**_to join our amazing team._
- The Recreation Coordinator assesses, develops and coordinates the delivery of social, recreational,
- therapeutic programs consistent with the needs, interests and abilities of persons in care. Respects and
- promotes the dignity and individuality of each person in care by recognizing them as individuals with
- unique cultural, spiritual, and psycho-social needs.
- Education, Requirements, Skills- Experience in conducting assessments and building programs to reflect patient needs.
- Experience in a social service or long-term care setting an asset
- Experience and skills in facilitating activation programs
- Demonstrated experience planning programs for patients with dementia and various physical
limitations- Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication in English (verbal and in writing);
- Strong computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others and as part of an
inter-disciplinary team.- Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.
- Creative, energetic, approachable, and highly motivated.
- Genuine interest in working with seniors.
- Current First Aid/CPR C certification.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Complete other tasks as requested
- Attends team meetings as requested
Job Qualification
**Education**
- Diploma in Recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or equivalent
- Gentle persuasion or Montessori preferred
- CPR/ First Aid.
**Experience**:
- Minimum 3 years of recreational coordinator/activation experience
**Other Skills and Abilities**
- Enjoy working with clients of all ages
- Reliability is crucial.
- Strong, communication, (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making
skills- Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner.
- Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of various software programs including word, excel and power- Commitment to continued learning
- Current criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screen
**STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE**
