At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for an experienced Secretary to join its team at the Mount Sinai Hospital site.
- Provides general administrative support to the nursing and medical staff providing care in the department
- Facilitates efficient patient intake and flow
- Creates an environment of warmth, welcome and positive customer service
- Ensures appropriate security of patient records and transfer of patient information among various clinical offices/departments in the Women's & Infants' Health Program
- Prepares the staffs schedules
- Completes weekly payroll and nursing workload submissions and monthly statistical reports
- Facilitates the maintenance of adequate department supplies and repair of office/clinic equipment
- Job Requirements- Successful completion of a Medical Secretary diploma or the equivalent, from an accredited educational institution
- 2 years recent experience preparing staff schedules and payroll submissions in a unionized environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Proficiency in Patient Registration and Payroll software
- Demonstrated commitment to patient/family centred care
- Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player in a challenging and changing environment
- Ability to manage multiple demands and customer expectations in positive manner while working within departmental standards/expectations
- Strong customer service skills and ability to sensitively communicate with patients/families in vulnerable situations
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity and flexibility
- Ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform the essential requirements of this position
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
