The Civil Construction Lead is responsible for scheduling, planning, coordination and control of a construction project from its inception to the time it is completed. The Construction Lead is responsible for ensuring that all materials of construction, and methods of construction conform to industry, regulatory standards, specifications, and requirements. The Construction Lead is also responsible for ensuring that the construction project is concluded safely and successfully. They will assist with daily operations including operation of machinery, general construction, supervision of field crew/sub-contractors, creating project schedules, reading and interpreting drawings and receiving materials on-site. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for review and redlining of plans, specifications, and take-offs for correctness and potential constructability issues
- Maintain continuous knowledge of contract specifications, documents and scopes of work, including subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Responsible for subcontractor scheduling to coordinate with daily work schedules to adhere to the master project schedule.
- Review of all subcontractor invoices for payment based on site progress
- Ensure project permits are in place and regularly monitored for compliance with documentation.
- Ensure all required third party and municipal inspections are performed and passed
- Ensure company, safety, and project policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
- Responsible for oversight and management of administrative functions and reporting.
- Responsible for oversight and management of technical functions. (i.e. planning, means & methods, scheduling, submittals, transmittals, shop drawings, critical lift plans, etc.) as needed.
- Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site and in-office meetings.
- Experience in bid processes to support, review and advise on schedules, means & methods, equipment requirements, labor requirements and cost.
- Maintains files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
- Sourcing subtrades

**Requirements**:

- Must be able to operate skid steer, excavator and forklifts
- Experience and knowledge of Civil Construction, Concrete Form & Finish, Paving, Compaction required
- Electrical knowledge preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong management skills and a solution provider
- Strong ability to read drawings and specifications
- Functions effectively as part of a team
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality always
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to think creatively, work independently and deliver high quality work with mínimal supervision and with aggressive timelines.
- Integrity, professionalism, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to handle both internal and external communications with tact and diplomacy.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills. Team player with a positive, flexible attitude with the ability to generate a spirit of cooperation while coordinating diverse activities and groups.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
