**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role you will:

- Provide oversight and expert technological advice in the management of telecommunications services, facilities and advanced technical consulting on infrastructure issues across the enterprise.
- Provide senior technical level expertise, project management and coordination of wide-scale projects and initiatives across multiple systems/program areas.
- Plan and implement enterprise-wide telecommunications services and conduct cost benefit analysis of utilizing new service delivery options.
- Lead and develop technical requirements for service improvements and new services, including requests for proposals and evaluation materials.

Note: This position may require visits to urban and rural remote settings to provide support or problem resolution outside of normal hours. Job requires on-call, standby and occasional return to work to provide technical support to ministry-critical systems on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Technical Skills**:

- You have advanced knowledge of telecommunication systems, architectures (IP & IP based network, data and wireless) and networks (voice, data, wireless and video) to oversee the testing and performance of integrated multi-service network systems.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of unified communications infrastructure to design, develop and implement innovative solutions.

**Communication Skills**:

- You can ensure effective communication during service outages, prepare reports and presentations.
- You can develop and maintain business relationships by providing advanced technical expertise to cluster and ministry senior management.
- You can write technical documents, recommendations, policies, and standards

**Analytical, Organizational and Strategic Thinking Skills**:

- You can lead enterprise-wide consultations and provide input to technology strategies.
- You can lead several large-scale projects across multiple programs.
- You can participate in the development of emerging technologies.

**Project Management Skills**:

- You can lead the technical integration between telecommunication systems and coordinate projects across multiple systems and program areas.
- You can provide project leadership for all technical aspects of large-scale telecommunication projects involving highly complex or state-of-the-art technologies.

**Procurement Skills**:

- You can develop and lead the technical requirements of request for proposals and recommend proposals for specialized telecommunication systems.
