With exciting challenges and opportunities ahead, BuildDirect is looking for a Manager, Supply Chain who will be a strategic partner within the the Operations team. This role is covering a leave and is expected to last 12-14 months. Reporting to the VP, Operation & Strategy the Manager, Supply Chain will lead the planning and execution of the BuildDirect Warehousing Program (BWP), ocean logistics, drayage and compliance. Manager, Supply Chain will lead a team of supply chain specialists to manage the day to day operations and build the supply chain network.
**Some of the great things you’ll do**:

- Lead and manage the BuildDirect warehouse program by partnering with external providers for achieving excellence across inventory accuracy, order processing and fulfilment, quality control, cost optimization and process improvement
- Partner with ocean carriers and drayage providers to ensure smooth flow of inventory from international ports to warehouses in US and Canada and be a key point of contact to ensure information transfer across relevant stakeholders
- Work with cross functional teams within and outside organization to ensure compliance to programs such CTPAT, USMCA etc.
- Lead a team of supply chain specialist and coordinator to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and act as an escalation point of contact
- Work closely with cross functional business units such as logistics, customer success, inventory etc. to ensure the alignment of inbound inventory and warehousing with the Company objectives
- Participate in financial planning process to provide input related to warehousing and global logistics aligned with Company objectives
- Standardize the SOPs and checklists for internal teams and external supply chain partners to achieve operations excellence
**What you’ll bring to the table**:

- 5+ years in warehouse management or relevant experience dealing with third party warehouse providers
- Prior experience managing imports into North America and working with steamship lines
- Prior experience managing people is an asset
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and ocean logistics
- Working knowledge of MS office and basic excel skills
- Strong interest in process optimization and improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Amazing problem solving, organizational, and people management skills
