**Urban Forestry Consultant**

**Duration**: Full-time Permanent
- Preparation of arborist reports, tree inventories and tree protection plans following applicable regulations throughout Southern Ontario.
- Conducting tree risk, structural and health assessments in accordance with industry practices.
- On-site monitoring of development works in proximity to trees and tree impact assessments.
- Field tree inventories and analysis.
- Undertaking tree appraisals in accordance with industry practices.
- This role will consist of a mix of office and field work.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- A 3-year diploma or degree in Forestry or Arboriculture. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Must be a Certified Arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).
- Must be Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) with the International Society of Arboriculture(ISA) or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Urban Forestry or related field.
- Have familiarity with computer aided design (CAD) software and Microsoft Office or Microsoft365 products.
- Must have strong communication skills and familiarity with local tree by-laws and tree protection standards.
- Have strong knowledge of development impacts on trees in the urban setting.
- Have strong knowledge of tree biology, biomechanics, pests, and diseases.
- Graphic Information Systems (GIS) experience is considered an asset.
- Registered Consulting Arborist (RCA) with the American Society of Consulting Arborists(ASCA), Board Certified Master Arborist or Municipal Specialist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), or Registered Professional Forester (RPF) considered an asset.
- Must have a minimum G class driver’s Licence and their own vehicle for transportation to and from field sites.
