Headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, our client is a leading land developer with more than 20 years’ experience creating some of the most vibrant and innovative communities in the GTA. As they continue to invest in properties, they are looking to grow their team with the addition of a **Development Manager.**

The role will be based in our Burlington head office.

As the Development Manager, you will be responsible for the development of the lands owned by our client as well as affiliate corporations and Joint Ventures including, but not limited to, future acquisitions. This includes retaining service providers and consultants, managing the budget and project schedule to meet all the milestones of secondary plan and draft plan approval, registration and permit service, and assumptions, as outlined in project status meetings.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Undertake procurement efforts to manage land development projects by hiring, working with, and supervising consultants to meet project goals and milestones.
- Assist in the preparation and development of project budgets and capital needs.
- Provide technical input to engineers, consultants, surveyors, lawyers and other third parties retained to implement the projects.
- Monitor the project’s progress and ensure that the key milestones are met.
- Work with the team to obtain the necessary approvals and permits to meet the project milestones.
- Attend to and organize meetings and coordinate the work of all stakeholders including planners, consultants, governmental authorities and more.
- Report to the Company’s management team, providing timely updates on project plans, design, budget, schedule, development, etc.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior project team members and coordinate staffing resources to complete the project.
- Monitor and control project budgets to meet the established financial targets.
- Coordinate and organize a regional reporting structure with the Company’s management and other partners of the joint ventures.
- Attend Town and Region Council meetings, Industry Liaison meetings, Group Cost Sharing meetings, Political events, and other meetings and events to advance our interests and our projects.
- Coordinate with Town, Region and Conservation staff, members of municipal council, and other public officials to advance the interests of Argo and our projects in a professional, cordial manner while exemplifying our client’s values of humility, respect, and cooperation.

- Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and AutoCAD is recommended.
- As the position may involve travel to construction sites and consultant offices, a vehicle and a class 'G' license is required.

**Education/Experience**:

- Completion of a degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Real Estate Business and/or minimum of 7 years relevant work experience
- Experience directly managing a development project(s) an asset.
