**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Research, Strategy and Impact Measurement will be responsible for aligning the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford with the strategic priorities of the Association. This role will be responsible for developing a research agenda that supports the Association’s strategic plan as well as establishing appropriate measures to be used to evaluate impact. This position partners with multiple stakeholders throughout the Association to ensure cohesive program and project execution. They will explore and facilitate research partnerships, analyze existing research, and provide recommendations on how they can be applied to program planning and delivery.

**In this role, you will**:
**Research Strategic Support**:

- Provides direct support to the Association senior leadership team by identifying, researching, planning, and implementing strategic research initiatives and high priority projects for advancing the key priorities of the Association.
- Coordinates and responds to requests for research support from within the Association.
- Supports the senior leadership team in the advancement, execution, and achievement of annual strategic workplans and priorities including monitoring, tracking, and reporting on progress.
- Develops and maintains processes for ensuring data integrity including the monitoring of key statistics/data used by the Association for external communications and performance management.
- Uses applied and academic research methods of data collection to analyze and provide valid and reliable recommendations.
- Forges collaborative research relationships with industry and community partners, higher education institutions, and foundations.
- Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis on specific projects and trends, to support the team and inform future strategic priorities and operational plans.
- Conducts background research, develops reports and acts as a liaison on the strategic priorities and objectives of the Association.
- Ensures that research approaches are informed by current and emerging best practices in the field.

**Project Management**
- Manages projects that require engagement with internal and external key stakeholders including development of terms of reference, holding regular meetings and documenting actions and next steps, and completing projects (including report writing and presentation of results) within a specified timeframe.
- Leads and supports the production of funding proposals, research reports, case studies, and presentations.
- Manages and monitors project work plans, budgets, documents, and timelines and is accountable for timely completion of objectives and key results.
- Liaises with and coordinates actions with stakeholders for strategic projects to ensure roles are clear and actions are executed effectively.
- Responsible for regular reporting of project related activities to the senior leadership team and/or Board of Directors.
- Supports the coordination of various councils and committees, as needed.

**Impact Measurement**:

- Evaluates Association impact and supports efforts to sustain and improve the impact of the Association’s programs and services.
- Supports the measurement and evaluation of work-plans with a focus on the creation of an organizational dashboard for impact and organizational effectiveness.
- Identifies KPIs to measure research impact and outcomes including the use of data analytics.
- Supports initiatives to monitor community well-being and assess the Association’s reach and impact on the well-being of the neighborhoods we serve.
- Represents the YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford in external research programs and academic forums; and facilitates knowledge transfer and collaboration.

**You bring**:

- PhD (preferred), Master’s degree or equivalent in a social/community research related program (e.g., Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology).
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible senior leadership experience in applied research, and in supporting strategic planning and/or workplan reporting, strategic management, project management and administration, prefer
