The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Central Regional Commander are seeking a qualified individual to join our team. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will support an HR team in the delivery of HR services, activities and programs, administering HR processes and conducting information searches and data research. To provide clients with information about HR processes and track status of activities. To provide support services for the delivery of corporate/Bureau programs.

About Us:
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We provide essential services that ensure the safety and security of the people of the Province of Ontario. The OPP is a division of the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the largest operational ministry in the province with a presence in every community across Ontario. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.

Within its boundaries of approximately 29,790 square kilometers, which encompass 24,510 square kilometers of land and 5,280 square kilometers of water, Central Region provides professional policing services through 13 community detachments. Central Region extends from the District of Muskoka in the north to Lake Ontario in the south; from Dufferin County in the west to Northumberland County in the east. Central Region includes 1,874 kilometers of King's Highway, as well as 22,188 kilometers of secondary roads.

Central Region is responsible to provide policing services to a population of approximately 523,000 people; however, the population fluctuates and swells throughout the year as Central Region is a vacation destination for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The overall population continues to grow in Central Region, especially in areas including, but not limited to, Orillia, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Peterborough, and Northumberland.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: To support an HR team in the delivery of HR services, activities and programs, administering HR processes and conducting information searches and data research.

To provide clients with information about HR processes and track status of activities.

To provide support services for the delivery of corporate/Bureau programs.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Knowledge of HR planning, organizational development, talent and performance management to support program enhancements, and the coordination of various HR initiatives.

Knowledge of HR information systems and databases, maintenance of data integrity and security, to support the evaluation and improvement of business processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products (including Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio), as well as knowledge and experience with HR information systems and databases to access and analyze data, in order to support the gathering of appropriate data for HR programs/initiatives and prepare various reports and responses to requests.

Leadership skills to provide information, technical guidance, and expertise to the management team, stakeholders, and clients on issues related to programs assigned.

Communication and Interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders on a variety of human resource research, analytical, and program support initiatives.

Planning and Coordinating skills to manage logístical and hospitality arrangements for events and activities.

Organizational skills to prioritize concurrent responsibilities.
