**The Opportunity**
This position works out of our Mississauga location in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. At ADC, we’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
**What You’ll Do**
- Support internal communications relating to the Diabetes division and brand. Ensure that employees are aware of changes and projects within the company. Distribute executive messages, prepare presentations and internal memos, and conduct meetings to share information. Develop print materials and branding strategies for employee use.
- Represent the organization to stakeholders, interested parties, and the public. Identify and prepar HCPs, patients, relevant stakeholders for interviews.
- Manage communication programmes through the design and implementation of detailed activity plans to support tactics for diabetes community.
- Support all affiliate communication initiatives representing Abbott’s Diabetes Care division with media, Patient Ambassadors, high profile individuals, and patient advocacy groups.
- Proactively identify opportunities for the brands.
- Provide communications expertise in the development of market access key messages/stories and other communications materials.
- Play an active role within the ADC marketing team and identify opportunities to work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to deliver on brand objectives, including communication elements of marketing team, providing input/insight on trends and opportunities during preparation of the brand plan.
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree required (communication, journalism or public relations preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Customer facing experience in Healthcare/Medical Device industry
- Communication experience including working with marketing/advertising, PR, creative agencies
- Strong media relations skills
- Experience working with MS Office
- Strong team player
- Ability to influence and drive forward change
- Strong written and oral abilities.
- Ability to lead and direct 3rd party communications agency and projects.
- Asset - Market Access communication experience
