**About the role**:
Reporting to the Operations and Projects Supervisor, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the strategic procurement of commodities, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by Adastra. This individual will utilize expert knowledge to develop sourcing strategies to purchase goods and services at the most favorable price for the company, while simultaneously building and maintaining strategic relationships with key suppliers.

**Duties and responsibilities (include and are not limited to)**:

- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet Adastra’s operational needs while optimizing costs and ensuring quality standards.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms for the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and supplies required for extraction processes while ensuring vendor qualification.
- Review of existing contracts with a view to negotiate favorable terms and conditions, risk mitigation plan and appropriate pricing mechanisms.
- Design and implement procurement databases to streamline procurement processes, track purchases, and manage supplier information effectively.
- Monitoring supplier performance and oversee all supplier issues while working with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with US brokers regarding cross-border shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery of materials, including picking up materials as needed.
- Collaborate with the production team to forecast material requirements and ensure adequate inventory levels to support ongoing operations.
- Process requisitions, prepares purchase orders, places orders.
- Cross collaborates between departments to assess volume requirements and negotiate volume discounts where applicable to maximize cost savings without compromising quality.
- Implement best practices for inventory management, including inventory tracking, stock rotation, and storage optimization.
- Potential for ad-hoc projects.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Post secondary education in a related field is desired but not required.
- A minimum of 2 years working in a purchasing/procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing facility.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of the cannabis industry, including regulatory environment is highly desirable.
- High Proficiency of MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing and contracting techniques and procedures.
- Knowledge of accounting and budgetary practices and principles.
- Superior oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- High level of organization and detail-orientation.
- Good attitude towards teamwork but also able to work well independently.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Constantly assesses shifting priorities and adjusts accordingly.
- Effective strategy development, communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing to facilitate pickups and deliveries as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
