**POSITION OVERVIEW**:

- Kiewit is currently looking for a Field Operations HR Specialist. This role directly implements and supports our company's HR program on a project site.- Do you want to put your entrepreneurial spirit to work and help a business evolve its Human Resources function? This position will work closely with project teams on an iconic construction project that offers long term sustainability for the Canadian economy. The primary responsibility will be to support the project in execution and performance as well as delivering a high-level, front-line HR service. It will be key to establish a strong partnership with operational leaders and you must enjoy working in the fast-paced world of construction.**DISTRICT OVERVIEW**:

- HR Operations is an integral partner and service provider at Kiewit. In recent years, we have gone from decentralized HR groups to a unified, shared service team, with various HR Centers of Excellence. Our vision is to be a best-in-class international HR organization.- This role will support our Western Canada District projects. Kiewit’s Western Canada District is headquartered in Burnaby, British Columbia. We primarily perform heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities. **RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support a project work force planning program ensuring the project is staffed with the most qualified personnel.
- Provide expert guidance to management in the areas of performance management, employee relations and career development.
- Support on-boarding process to ensure consistent messaging across the project.
- Leverage HR dashboards, reports and data to drive business decisions and tactics.
- Support execution of employee performance programs and expectations to maximize workforce productivity.
- Monitor workforce engagement for trends that require action to ensure high employee morale and retention.
- Lead the development of HR related strategies and ensure implementation and execution.
- Serve as a change agent by influencing key stakeholders in support of organizational needs.
- Act as a liaison with HR Shared Services to ensure the delivery of support exceeds internal client needs.
- Utilize and implement various human resource information systems (HRIS) and provide support to employees and managers.
- Support labour relations meetings with the appropriate project unionized provider.
- Support the management of craft employee issues such as grievances, terminations and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure implementation of all LR programs, policies and procedures.
- Communicate and support any district related LR initiatives for craft employees.
- Have working knowledge of PLA’s, union Collective Agreements and Pre-Jobs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- This position requires a HR/LR professional who can strike the balance between strategy and execution.
- 4 + years’ experience in multiple human resources functions, ideally with 1+ years' experience in management roles.
- Labour Relations experience is strongly desired and ideally experience with CLAC.
- Ability to influence individuals and groups.
- Proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships.
- Sound business acumen and analytical skills.
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
- Strong work ethic, willing to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.
- Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
