Brantford, Canada Snobelen Farms Full time

**Hey Did you knowwe are NOT a FARM?**

While we are proud of our name and our roots, we thought we should get the message out that, no, we are not actually a farm

Our name, Snobelen Farms, originates from when Mike and Judy Snobelen farmed in Huron Township back in the 1970’s. They opened our first commercial grain elevators in Ripley, Ontario in 1971.

**What are we then?**

We are Ontario’s largest independent, family-owned grain elevator.

We have eight locations across Southwestern Ontario.

We have grown into operating 3 business units:
1. commercial grains

2. IP/food grade soybeans

3. pedigree seeds

We specialize in the production, processing, and sales for all our business units.

**What does a Grain Elevator Operator do?**

Grain Elevator Operators are responsible for operating our elevators. Simple right? Not quite.

The number one job for an Operator is safety Working in a busy environment with specific working conditions, such as heights and confined space, requires employees who care about safety.

Operators will provide excellent customer service while receiving product from local farmers.

Using a PLC system, mechanical equipment and other programs they will receive, grade, manage and store the product through our elevator systems including legs, pits, bins, dryers, etc.

They are responsible to maintain the quality of that product by proper storing, transferring and conditioning - one location can have up to 2,000,000 bushels at one time.

They are an important part of an essential industry that helps feeds the world.

It’s not all glamorous work either, they are responsible for bin clean outs and general maintenance of the elevator.

**What else can you look forward to?**

A rewarding, challenging, and progressive career with many opportunities for development.

Feeling empowered for your ability to think outside of the box and willingness to create change.

Enjoying an environment that is innovative, flexible and caring.

Working with a phenomenal team of agriculture passionate people

Excellent compensation packages

**What do we expect from you if you are applying?**

Grain elevator or agriculture experience is a huge asset, but not required.

Outstanding written and verbal communication

Customer interaction and relationship building

Exceptional problem solving, time management.

Ability to process information with high levels of accuracy in busy environments with tight deadlines.
