**The opportunity**

The role of the Tax Specialist is to be accountable for the Canadian tax compliance, tax analysis, and reporting obligations related to the BGO Group including its corporate and fund entities. The Specialist will work within the tax team and liaison with the Client Finance and Corporate Accounting teams, and report to the Tax Manager.

**What you will do**:

- Prepare Canadian partnership and corporate tax returns, information returns, and miscellaneous tax filings.
- Prepare Canadian income tax provisions and Canadian income tax forecast estimates for taxable entities.
- Prepare ad-hoc tax analysis, as well as assisting with special projects as required.
- Communicate with internal business units on various questions and information requests to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting.
- Reconcile Notices of Assessment to tax returns; prepare formal responses to queries from tax authorities.
- Maintain and update tax filing summaries.

**Who You Are**
- Bachelor’s Degree and CPA program or post-graduate degree equivalent
- Experience with preparation of Canadian corporate and partnership income tax returns.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax concepts and accounting for income taxes with respect to partnerships, real estate, and holding companies.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in taxation. Public practice experience is preferred, commercial real estate industry background or similar industry considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, tax technical knowledge and analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with mínimal direction.
- Ability to identify and analyze problems; mobilize action when needed and discuss/resolve issues in an efficient and timely manner.
- **Organization/Multi-Task Skills**: Must be self motivated, allocate time effectively, adaptable, flexible to handle multiple demands and tight timelines for a large volume of files.
- **Communication & Relationship Skills**: Excellent communication skills required, both spoken and written; A high level of client service is a priority; Must be able to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; Required to be flexible, exercise discretion and keep sensitive information confidential.
- **Police Clearance** - A criminal verification check is required for employment.
