**Program Manager Recreational Lead **, Full Time

Location: Plantagenet, ON

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, direct and supervise the department program which includes: recreational, restorative care, pastoral care, social work, music therapist and volunteers.
- Implement and evaluate program relating to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents.
- Coordinate activities with those of other departments and inform administration of departmental activities, needs and problems.
- Plan and execute program clinic days for the residents such as mobility device cleaning and repair, dentistry, optomology and audiology in addition to supporting the hairdressing when on site with the nursing team
- Develop departmental goals and objects.
- Actively participate in program delivery.
- Develop, implement, and monitor programming budget.
- Satisfy Health Record as they pertain to the department (MDS experience an asset)
- Familiar with managing councils such as Resident Council and being the liason for Family Council

QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university required
- Knowledge of the concepts of Restorative care, Holistic care, Activation and Dementia Care
- Previous supervisory experience in long term care an asset, minimum one year in a supervisory role managing and leading staff
- Experience in planning, developing and evaluating effectiveness of individual and group programming for frail, elderly residents, residents with mental health issues, using an interdisciplinary approach
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and have a command of the English language.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
- Knowledge of community resources, program development, MOHLTC standards and Inspection Protocols utilized by the Ministry
- Sufficient knowledge and experience to coordinate religious services and spiritual care in a multi-faith setting required
- At least one year of experience with seniors in an organized program or one year of experience with persons in a health care setting required
- Experience or knowledge in recruitment, selection, orientation, placement and supervision of volunteers required
- Must be Bilingual in English and French
