The School of Engineering & Technology is currently seeking a qualified professional to join the faculty team to teach in the Bachelor of Interior Design program. Under the direction of the Chair, the Professor is responsible for providing the delivery of curriculum, development of an effective learning environment for students, and academic leadership:

- Designing, updating, and delivering a variety of courses including project courses
- Defining, evaluating, and validating program and course learning outcomes
- Developing alternative delivery strategies, online course development, and teaching as required
- Ensuring program and course curriculum are current, relevant, and reflective of best practices in the field
- Designing appropriate strategies and tools for facilitating and evaluating student progress and achievement
- Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment that supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds and learning styles
- Participating in department, portfolio/school and college-wide activities/task groups as required
- Working in a collaborative, collegial manner both within the department and across the college
- Supporting applied research activities including the identification and selection of potential projects
- Developing of industry partnerships and collaboration with industry partners
- Fulfilling responsibilities as defined in the Academic Employees Collective Agreement

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure student awareness of course objectives, instructional approach, and evaluation systems
- Carry out regularly scheduled instruction according to the format prescribed for the course, including online, classroom, and computer-assisted lab lessons
- Evaluate student progress/achievement, assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within the assigned course, and maintain records as required
- Support students in the use of eConestoga, the learning management system (D2L), as well as maintain course materials within this system
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment which supports the diversity of students’ cultures, educational backgrounds, and learning styles
- Collaborate and build relations with other program faculty

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- Professional designation in Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) or Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), or an equivalent designation is considered an asset
- Minimum five years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with curriculum development is an asset
- Knowledge and experience of computer systems (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and educational technologies (e.g. D2L, Zoom) is an asset
- Strong leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
