**Job Duties**
- Provide service and communication directly with customers to ensure their satisfaction with the product, quality and variety of food.
- Follow / develop cyclical menus, recipes, and special event menus.
- Prepare food for the dining facilities including preparation of soups, daily menus, specials of the day, vegetables, sauces, gravies, etc., and ensure primary preparation for the entrée items to be completed the following day
- Ensure appealing presentation on the service line in a timely fashion.
- Portion control instructions for servers
- Responsible for the correct holding temperatures of food prior to and during service
- Responsible for adequate levels of product for all shifts which includes; soups, daily menus, specials of the day, vegetables, sauces, gravies, pastries, pies etc.
- Places all food supplier orders; checks accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming orders, records invoices and ensures credits are received
- Maintains inventory levels and ensures stock of organized and rotated
- Promote and enforce health and safety regulations and promote safety awareness in workplace
- Manages the cafeteria and catering services at the location
- Provides excellent customer service, reinforcing and leading by example; addresses customer complaints in a professional manner
- Follows budgets and accounts for cost of sales, operating expenses and labour
- Ensures areas are safe, clean and well-organized to meet customer, client and company needs
- Ensures procedures for safe food storage, handling and preparation as outlined by Health & Safety Food regulations
- Prepares and completes all daily cash reconciliation reports
- Completes and submits daily, weekly and monthly financial reports and inventories
- Completes payroll reports bi-weekly and submits to the Payroll Department
- Conducts monthly Workplace Health & Safety Inspections; completes all reports
- Motivate staff new and / or current; ensures that staff orientation, training and development activities, including Health & Safety training are according to policy, procedure and guidelines
- Adheres to all Polices and Procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Dietary/Culinary Management, Red Seal or Cook 1 or 2 papers required.
- Minimum 3-5 years in a role as Chef / Manager of a large kitchen; volume cooking and catering experience also required
- Must have reliable transportation to commute or relocate prior to commencement or position
- Must be 3x Covid vaccinated, 2 Step TB test and Vulnerable Police Record Search Required
- Highly effective communication skills
- Ability to direct and supervise small and large groups of employees
- Creativity
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions, as well as to adapt them
- Exceptional organizational abilities
- Extended periods of time standing at workstations
- Ability to do lifting as required

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$54,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Peterborough, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cooking: 5 years (preferred)
- Supervising: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Red Seal or Cooks Papers (preferred)
- 3 Covid Vaccines (preferred)
