Health Club Coordinator

The Health Club Coordinator will be responsible for on-site supervision of the patrons of the health club. This will include ensuring equipment is maintained and used properly as well as developing special events to promote the health club to the community.

**Reporting To**: Aquatics Supervisor

**Responsibilities**:

- Schedule regular preventative maintenance of health club equipment to create a safe environment.
- Complete facility tours and orientation sessions for new and potential members.
- Recommend and implement special events and membership drive opportunities, in coordination with the Supervisor in an effort to recruit more members.
- Communicate regularly with members in a friendly and professional manner to determine satisfaction with facility services and address any complaints or incidents.
- Develop personal training programs for registered participants.
- Provide instruction for target groups.
- Monitor membership cards of patrons at the health club.
- Respond to inquiries regarding membership rates and facility policies.
- Provide suggestions on content for promotional materials.
- Compile and summarize membership statistics.
- Act as a positive role model on issues of fitness and active lifestyles.
- Oversee the general cleaning and maintenance of the equipment.
- Enforce all health club rules and maintain good public relations with clients.
- Adhere to Municipality of Kincardine corporate policies and procedures.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Management.

**Education & Experience Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Possess a Certified Fitness Instructor Specialist, CanFitPro is considered an asset
- Possess a Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
- 2 years of relevant experience in fitness industry

**Required Knowledge, Skills & Competencies**:

- Comprehensive understanding of fitness programs
- Ability to cater exercise and fitness activities to a range of age groups and members of different physical abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to connect with people
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Interest in fitness and nutrition as part of an overall healthy lifestyle
- Be enthusiastic, upbeat, positive and customer-service oriented

**Employment Information**:

- Regular, Part-Time Position
- 20 hours per week
- Compensation = Group 3 (Step 1 $22.07/hr - Step 5 $27.09/hr)

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: From $22.07 per hour
