ToursByLocals (“TBL”) is seeking an experienced Finance leader to help grow the company to a successful liquidity event and beyond. TBL has been backed by private equity capital since Tritium Partners’ investment in 2019 and is experiencing exceptional growth creating an exciting environment. This role has the opportunity to develop into a CFO function long-term if appropriate for the individual and the business. This role is remote and will involve occasional travel for business meetings and industry events.

This role is a remote, full-time, permanent, role based in the US or Canada.

**What will you oversee?**

Overall financial integrity of TBL including:

- Monthly financial statements
- Updated monthly forecast
- Variance analysis
- Articulation of context around the numbers.”the why”
- Owning the financial model that reports financials and forecasts the business
- Leading the annual planning/budget process
- Forecast updates of the business as needed
- Accounts payable/Accounts Receivable
- Payroll

In partnership with legal and/or third party advisors as appropriate, compliance with all regulatory requirements such as:

- Tax payments and analysis (sales tax, income tax, payroll tax, etc.)
- Annual financial audits in a timely manner

Finance/Accounting team management and development
- Including growing the team appropriately for the needs of the business
- Setting expectations for roles on the team

Establishing and executing to deadlines such as regular monthly close
- Support development and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business in partnership with data reporting environment/team

Investor relations
- Proactively and reactively communicate financial information and context to investors
- Lead board meeting administration (slide deck, agenda, etc.) in close partnership with CEO

Ad-hoc analysis/business case support for strategic decisions
- Own relationships with external capital providers such as banks, investment firms, and other alternatives sources of capital
Includes playing a key role in any future capital sourcing (if desired) and/or a liquidity event.

**What Education, Experience and Skills will you need?**

10+ years of financial analysis assessing the health of companies and advising on strategic decisions based on data driven analysis.
- This might include, but not limited to, Finance at a company, consulting, investment banking, equity research,and private equity/venture capital roles

Extensive understanding of the 3 key financials statements, how they are intertwined, and how to interpret them
- Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. accounting standards
- Expert in bridging accounting reporting to management financial reporting including non-accounting metrics such as EBITDA and EBITDA adjustments

Strong preference for experience with two-sided consumer marketplaces in a multi-geographical/currency environment (traveler-related industry experience is also a plus)

Navigation of accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.
- Ability to pull necessary data as needed for self-serve analysis
- Experience managing or overseeing an accounting system implementation is a plus

Operational efficiency mindset
- Design process improvements and implement
- Articulate benefits to the organization as a result

Confidence with private equity investors, senior executives, and their expectations
- Led or supported a financing round and/or liquidity event
- Been a part of a leadership/management team in previous role

Ability to manage, and work with, a remote team across geographies
- Cross-functional tact to navigate departments within the organization and obtain/maintain alignment

Attention to detail and strong communication skills are critical

Comfort and experience with G-suite products (G-sheets, G-docs, G-slides, etc.)
