Seasonal Mower Operator

The Agriculture department is looking for an experienced seasonal full-time Tractor Mower Operator for the 2023 summer season which is approximately to October 27th. Tractor Mower Operators are responsible for providing roadside and industrial subdivision mowing services.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Operating a tractor side-arm combination mower
- Locating road allowance mowing sites on a map
- Loading, transporting, and unloading tractor mower
- Reviewing local land conditions
- Maintaining tractor mower records (hours, ground condition, mileage mowed)
- Cleaning tractor mowers before leaving site to avoid cross-contamination of weeds
- Notifying Weed Inspectors and Sprayers of noxious weeks and providing land location
- Picking weeds and seeding ditches in new construction areas
- Performing basic maintenance and repairs to the tractor mower

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Valid Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract, Class 3 preferred
- Experience operating farm equipment, tractors, side-arm mowers, 3-pt hitch mowers, 3- pt hitchseeders, and hydro-seeders
- Ability to maintain the equipment used
- Knowledge of noxious weeds, an asset
- Ability to manage time and priorities, and multi-task
- Comfortable using computers, including MS Office software
- Comfortable reading maps and accurately determining land locations
