Taverna Mercatto is currently looking for **experienced** **Server Support Staff** who are available to work weekends.

We are a busy & fun restaurant in the heart of Toronto's downtown entertainment core. Steps away from Scotiabank Arena, The Rogers Centre, multiple theatres and tourist destinations--Taverna Mercatto is a favourite destination for locals and tourists alike.

The role includes bar-backing, food expediting, food-running, bussing and is the perfect position for individuals who are interested in hospitality as a career long-term. Restaurant experience is valued for this position but we are willing to train the right people if they are willing to learn our core values and work hard.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform delegated tasks from Operations Manager, and/or General Manager
- Create positive guest experiences
- Knowledge of all food and beverage items
- Be aware of any special requests, inclusive of guest allergies
- Be able to carry 3 plates of food
- Be able to use a tray to remove glassware from tables
- Other duties as assigned or required

QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-year of experience in a fast-paced restaurant/bar is an asset
- SmartServe Certified
- Passion for food, beverage and providing excellent customer service
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take direction and prioritize
- Strong oral communication skills
- High level of product knowledge
- Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum
