We are seeking an experienced **Production Supervisor**to swing on days and afternoons. Position reports to Plant Manager.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Plan, organize, schedule and measure production related day to day activities in all departments to ensure quality, cost and delivery requirements are met by:

- Resolving production related problems (quality, missing material, needed tools, etc.)
- Entering Dayforce data accurately daily and reviewing statistics weekly
- Participating in all management, production, safety and quality meetings as required
- Initiating, planning, implementing and sustaining corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement ideas and communicating status to relative stakeholders
- Implementing company policies and goals as needed
- Contributing to team effort by performing related duties as instructed in a respectful manner
- Delegating work assignments to leaders
- Initiating INCs, investigating to determine root cause and recording actions
- Working closely with the Quality team to develop corrective/preventive actions and driving actions assigned to department
- Focusing on reducing NPL (review statistics weekly)
- Optimizing use of tooling, shop supplies and machines
- Assisting plant management team in the review and correction of low gross margin concerns
- Co-ordinating production activities to ensure optimal use of resources
- Organize shifts and overtime to ensure there is adequate coverage to complete the work
- Ensure availability of steel/material, tools, prints, shop orders, proper lifting equipment to all machines
- Ensure material flows through shop with proper paperwork for next operation
- Reviewing daily dispatch report with Scheduler to ensure customer requests are met
- Lead by example with a level of integrity that is beyond reproach
- Treating all team members with respect

- Taking ownership of issues and resolving them to satisfaction/understanding of all

- Conducting departmental meetings as needed
- Conducting annual performance reviews of assigned team members including setting individual goals, providing feedback, coaching, etc.
- Checking weekly attendance statistics and address concerns
- Planning and conducting training as required
- Communicating need for additional production (i.e. overtime) one on one
- Completing all required documentation and forwarding as required (HR, Quality, etc.)
- Participating in and encouraging celebrations of success (safety, quality, etc.)
- Ensuring that all team members work in compliance with the requirement of OH&S Act as well as company policies
- Assisting in orientation for all new/transferred team members
- Ensuring team members are given written instructions as to the measures and procedures that may need to be taken for protection of him/her.
- Ensuring team members use all protective devices and proper equipment as required
- Informing team members of the existence of potential or actual danger
- Ensuring that every reasonable precaution is taken under the circumstances so that the team member is protected
- Assigning specific work to a team member who is competent in performing such work
- Participating in safety committee meetings as requested
- Initiating incident/near miss investigations and scheduling incident team meeting to determine correction action for substandard acts and/or conditions
- Completing health & safety violation corrective action forms when necessary
- Delivering safety information to workers in safety talk and/or department meetings
- Certifying in First Aid/CPR/AED
- Other Duties as required.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- College/University or equivalent
- Knowledge, understanding and >3 years’ experience with steel manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication skills
