- Leverage advanced skills to train Shop Apprentices, Shop workers, and Shop tech I’s in multiple areas of the department

EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- 2-3 years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Curtain wall industry experience required

Production Responsibilities
Performs within an assigned department
Successfully performs in four areas or four pieces of equipment in the fabrication department. Receptive to training and feedback which includes better understanding of the curtainwall processes, procedures, reading shop drawings, blueprints, machine operation and/or using manual hand tools.
Follow standard operating procedures in the plant
Standard operating procedures is a set of step-by-step instructions developed to help employees complete routine tasks. The goal is to achieve efficiency, quality output, and consistent performance, while minimizing miscommunication and failure to comply with industry regulations.
Meets established daily productivity goals
Work diligently to meet daily goals for your department while maintaining high quality products. Communicate to Team Leaders and/or appropriate team members when issues arise.
Identify ways to improve production process
Collaborate and contribute to develop best practices that provide the most effective flow for the project to run. Incorporate input from other team members to ensure the most valuable ideas are being utilized.
Moderate understanding of blueprint drawing understanding and interpretation
Be able to mostly understand blueprint drawings and identify how to fabricate the extrusions with proper quality and safety precautions.
Check measurements and dimensions of extrusions
Ensure measurements of extrusions raw and cut are accurate using rulers, measuring tapes, squares and other necessary tools.
Ensure the layout for the required fabrication meets drawing specification
Use tools to manipulate metal, plastic, and other materials by cutting, hammering, or bending the workpiece into a precision part.
Operate multiple machinery in the layout and assembly of routine fabrication jobs
Maneuver fabrication machines (e.g., grinder, drill press, table saw, band saw, mill machine, hand tools) to cut, fabricate and sub-assemble materials.
Fabricate framing units using manual and power tools, if needed
Cut extrusions to appropriate length for assemble purposes, in accordance with fabrication drawings.
Stage product by hand, dolly or forklift, if needed
Place materials in appropriate areas as outlined by job specifications.
Pull and stock inventory per job by hand, forklift and/or scissors lift

Participate in and drive company continuous improvement
Participate in and drive our continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for streamlining work, reducing cost and waste. Participate in and drive 5S by organizing and cleaning your workstation regularly while encouraging your coworkers to do the same. Participate in the kaizen (structured problem solving) process.

Adhere to quality assurance measures to ensure a quality product is being delivered
Adhere to the job/project specific quality procedures outlined in the QA/QC manual and traveler document provided at the beginning of each job.
