**THE POSITION**
Rooted in a rich history that began 138 years ago with the opening of Thunder Bay's first hospital, St. Joseph's Care Group is constantly changing, innovating, and finding new ways to meet the needs of those we serve. We are here for you when you needs us, offering a broad range of programs and services across eight sites, throughout the city of Thunder Bay, district and region of Northwestern Ontario.
Reporting to the President & CEO, and as an integral member of the SJCG Leadership Team, the Vice President, Clinical & Community Health provides executive oversight for long-term care, supportive housing, addictions and mental health programs and services. The VP plays a key leadership role in transforming programs and services in alignment with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, Centre of Excellence for Mental Health & Addictions, and our collective vision of being a leader in client-centred care.
The VP leads a team of health professionals delivering diverse programs and services, including mental health & addictions, long-term care, and supportive housing across multiple sites. The VP promotes an environment that enables teams to provide innovative, safe, culturally sensitive and high quality client centred programs and services. In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and Directors, the VP fosters an integrated team approach to service planning, delivery, budgeting, and managing fiscal and human resources.
The VP develops and maintains strong relationships with funders, partners and other health care organizations so that needs of clients are met. Emerging Ontario Health Teams in the region have identified Mental Health and Addictions as a priority area of focus, including improving care coordination, navigation and transitions.
**THE CANDIDATE**
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education/Experience**:
- Significant experience in a leadership capacity in comparable, complex organizations, in the healthcare industry, with demonstrated experience working in a values-based environment
- Knowledge of the foundations of Catholic Health Care or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of healthcare system, including political impact and influencing forces, provincial policy, applicable legislation and related regulations, political impact and influencing forces
- Experience in building empowered, diverse teams who are inspired to deliver excellent, innovative, and high-quality client care programs and services with exceptional outcomes and experiences for clients and families
- Baccalaureate degree in a related field
- Master's degree in a health, social services, business, or other related program
**Skills/Abilities**:
- Ability to think and act strategically in a public sector and health care environment, including the ability to conceptualize and implement change strategies
- Excellent project/time management, systems thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead self, engage others, achieve results, and develop coalitions in order to make transformational change

**Assets**:

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Ability to travel to various work locations as required and provide own transportation
- Will be required to travel out-of-town from time to time
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
