**Job Title**: Seniors Food Program Facilitator

**Location**: Strathcona Place Society, Edmonton, AB

**Salary**: $18 - $20 per hour (based on experience)

**About Us**: Strathcona Place Society is a senior centre committed to supporting seniors through diverse programs, outreach, and social services. Our Seniors Food Basket program is an anti-racism initiative aimed at enhancing food security for racialized and marginalized seniors by providing culturally appropriate food options and access to community resources.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Program Coordination**: Lead the daily operations of the Seniors Food Basket program, including planning, scheduling, and distributing food baskets.
- **Community Outreach**: Engage and establish relationships with racialized and marginalized senior communities to ensure outreach and accessibility of services.
- **Volunteer Management**: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support the program's delivery and operations.
- **Cultural Sensitivity**: Ensure the food provided meets culturally specific dietary needs, conducting assessments to understand the diverse preferences of seniors.
- **Data Collection and Reporting**: Track participation metrics, gather feedback from seniors, and report on program performance to stakeholders.
- **Outreach Events**: Plan and facilitate community engagement events to connect with seniors and promote program initiatives.
- **Logistics Coordination**: Oversee the transportation and delivery logistics of food baskets, including managing partnerships with food providers and delivery teams.
- **Inventory and Supplies Management**: Maintain inventory of supplies required for the program, ensuring all items are available as needed.
- **Client Support**: Assist in conducting intake and referrals for seniors accessing the food basket, ensuring their needs are met in a supportive manner.
- **Program Evaluation**: Set up a feedback method including different types such as group discussions and surveys. Create and issue surveys, and gather feedback from partners to assess program success.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience in program coordination, community outreach, or social services.
- Strong understanding of food security issues, especially within racialized or marginalized communities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with seniors or in a community-focused environment is an asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including volunteers and partner organizations.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative to solve problems.
- Food Handling Certificate is an asset

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
